Calypso at Target!!! Fashionable and affordable.

Here is your chance to get Calypso St. Barth (www.calypsostbarth.com) at an amazing price. Trust me, you DO NOT want  to miss out on this collaboration with national retailer Target, as they combine Calypsos cute resort chic wear with Targets affordability! I had to buy a couple pieces for my wardrobe, as these super cute frocks wont last long. As it is, the line has only been out for 2 days and already slim pickin's...
Calypso St. Barth for Target is a limited-edition collection of clothing and accessories for women, girls and baby, plus home goods including candles, decorative pillows, dinnerware, glassware and serving pieces, all ranging in price from $1.99 to $79.99.

This was the most expensive dress at our Target. Priced at $42.99 it was worth every penny!

This little number is a chemise, bought in the PJ/lingerie dept. although I rather fancy it as a summerdress/coverup. Priced at just $24.99, anyone can afford this luxury! Also, check out the bag...also by Calypso $19.99
Here is another chemise I purchased to wear around town for the summer. At $29.99, its probably one of the cheapest things in my closet!

This dress is a fun little sleeveless caftan with rope belt and fun beading around the collar.
Only $32.99

...and last but not least is the super cute bikini with yellow embroidered flowers & matching skirt.
Bikini $22.99 per piece and skirt $29.99

SO DONT WALK...RUN TO YOUR NEAREST

Spring/Summer Trends 2011

OK, so i've spent the past couple of days catching up on my runways shows...some good, some bad & some just plain old ugly.  My favorite show had to be Alberta Ferretti. One word...etherial! One of the BIG trends this season is SHEER, and this collection spares no expense! Lots of chiffon, linen, lace, macrame in neutral whites, creams, beiges and browns with a bit of grass green & lavender thrown in...just very feminine and romantic. It's wood sprite meets fairy princess!
I'm absolutely in love with this collection, now if I only had a hundred grand to drop on the entire line...it would be all mine!!!
Kudos Alberta Ferretti...it takes a lot to get me going, and you did that and more!!!
           Alberta Ferretti Spring/Summer 2011
                     My favorite of the season!!!

Another collection that I thoroughly enjoyed was the Spring/Summer '11 Badgley Mischka show.
They also made use of the lace & chiffon with neutral whites, beiges and creams, but also incorporated  pastels (mostly blues) & adopted  a more 1070's bohemian look to the collection.
Also notice the stacked wedge sandals below...another recycled trend!

Herve Leger Collection Spring/Summer 2011
made use of pastels as well, but they took a more structured approach to the design.
A bit Modern Marie Antoinette if you will...

Another one of my favorite collections for the Spring/Summer 2011 season is Donna Karan.
Yet again we see tremendous use of neutrals especially cream, beige and brown.
Her collection consisted of mostly soft, flowing unstructured and most importantly SHEER pieces.
Another show using mostly stacked wedge & stacked heeled sandals!

Chloe Spring/Summer 2011
another collection done in neutrals (although that's usually the case with Chloe)
This collection was very ballerina-esque with chiffon, tulle & ballet flats!
Although Chloe is one of my all-time favorite designers...I have to say, that it was a bit of a disappointment for me this season, as it lacked originality!

Michael Kors Spring/Summer 2011
...more neutrals...a lot more casual!

tissue T's and wedge sandals...a must.
(FYI...you dont have to spend $700 on a tissue t by Michael Kors. You can duplicate this look for a LOT less!)
And this collection too added pops of Grass Green!!!

So there you have it...My favorite trends of the upcoming Spring/Summer 2011 season:
NEUTRALS...SHEERS &  PLATFORM SANDALS
(with pops of green!)
